LEADERSHIP COUNCIL TO END HOMELESSNESS
ON CAPE COD AND THE ISLANDS

Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and Islands [CACCI] is the convening agency for the Leadership Council to End Homelessness on Cape Cod and the Islands, the Housing and Urban Development's [HUD] regional continuum of care network. CACCI provides a coordinator and administrative support to the Leadership Council. The Leadership Council has over 35 participating groups creating a network of homeless services providers, non-profit agencies, private businesses, housing developers, public housing authorities, representatives from local, county, and state government, faith-based community, and formerly homeless members. CACCI facilitates the Leadership Council's ongoing comprehensive, long term strategic planning striving to maintain an existing seamless continuum of shelter, housing, and supportive services.

Mission: to mobilize the Cape and islands community to end homelessness

Activities:

  • Oversee the submission of the HUD SuperNofa McKinney/ Vento Homeless Assistance annual grant application
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the Council's Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness
  • Conduct the annual "Point in Time" homeless count
  • Facilitate monthly meetings and coordination of various subcommittees

Milestones: HUD awarded a total of over $3,000,000 [FY03,04,05] to the region through the Leadership Council to create and preserve various housing options for homeless individuals and families including the creation of 19 new permanent supportive housing beds for homeless, disabled individuals and maintaining over 100 beds through the renewal process.
